The Best Tool in My Craft Room Isn’t My Cricut—It’s My Husband

We’ve all seen the memes, right? The ones about hiding the Michael's bags in the trunk of the car or whispering to the delivery driver to "leave the vinyl behind the bushes" so our partners don't see the hobby spending.

For a long time, I felt like I had to justify my crafting. As a full-time employee, a wife, and a mom, I felt like every minute (and every dollar) spent on my Cricut Maker 4 was "taking away" from my responsibilities.

But lately, my journey of finding me again has taken a beautiful, unexpected turn.

The Plot Twist: The Support I Didn’t Know I Needed

Instead of asking "another project?", my husband has become my biggest creative enabler. He saw that when I’m in my craft room, I’m not just "making stuff"—I’m decompressing. I’m reclaiming my identity outside of being "Mom" or "The Employee."

The Best Stocking Stuffer Surprise

While most people are looking for chocolates or gift cards in their stockings, my husband knew exactly what would make my crafter heart skip a beat. Forget the candy—he went straight for the "sanity savers."

I reached into my stocking and found fresh cutting mats and a multi-tip weeding pen. What?!! Cricut Stocking Stuffers!!! Can we just talk about the level of thoughtfulness there? He didn't just grab something off a shelf; he noticed the little frustrations of my craft nights. He saw the mats that were losing their grip and the tiny pieces of vinyl I was struggling to weed. Seeing those tools tucked in my stocking was his way of saying, "I see you, I see your passion, and I want to make it easier for you to shine."

Why the Small Things are Big Things

If you craft, you know. Cricut Stocking Stuffers yall!

The Fresh Mats: There is nothing—and I mean nothing—as satisfying as a brand-new, sticky mat. No more taping down the edges of my cardstock or praying the vinyl doesn't shift mid-cut.

The Multi-Tip Weeding Pen: This was the real game-changer. It’s sleek, it’s precise, and it makes those tiny, intricate "internal" cuts a breeze to weed.

But here’s the thing: it wasn't just about the tools. It was the fact that he noticed. He noticed my mats were losing their grip. He noticed me struggling with a dull weeding tool.

He didn't just buy supplies; he invested in my peace of mind.

Crafting My Way Back to Me

When you have a partner who supports your "spark," the flame grows faster. Having the right tools (shoutout to the Maker 4 and my new weeding pen!) makes the process smoother, but having the permission to take up space in my own life is the real gift.

I’m learning that "finding me" doesn't have to be a solo mission. Sometimes, it looks like a clean mat, a sharp tool, and a husband who says, "Go do your crafts. I got the kids."

This year, the best gift wasn't under the tree—it was tucked inside a stocking.

What about you, Sis? 👂🏿

Do you have a "Supportive Spouse" or a "Crafting Enabler" in your life? Or are you still working on carving out that space for yourself?
